Dr. Venugopal graduated in 2003 from NTR University of Health Sciences (India) and moved to Australia in 2007. Prior to entering General Practice in 2016 he gained experience within in a variety of specialities including Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Respiratory Medicine, Oncology, Haematology, Mental Health, Paediatrics and Orthopaedics. Dr. Vemula is a fellow with the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) and has worked in rural NSW hospital settings managing emergencies whilst working full time as a GP.

A resident Gold Coaster since 2018, he has a passion for all things sport especially cricket, tennis and the cycling. Dr. Venu loves the great outdoors from hinterland to beach and is always happy to chat with patients about their background, interests, and any health concerns they have.

Special interests range from managing Chronic diseases such as Diabetes, Cardiovascular conditions (Hypertension, Ischaemic heart disease, Stroke) Respiratory conditions (Asthma, COPD), diagnosing and managing mental health conditions (Depression/Anxiety), Paediatrics conditions and Men’s Health.

Dr. Venu lives with his wife, also a doctor, their two young boys and is fluent in English, Hindi and Telugu.
